On March 6, 1967, by action of the ACSM Board of Directors, the New England Section was chartered as a local section of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, with jurisdiction over the New England states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

The New England Section has acted autonomously for at least a decade and with the the disbanding and dissolution of ACSM, the New England Section of the ACSM is now the Geomatics Society of New England.

Our Mission:

To promote geomatics education and to advocate for the advancement of surveying and mapping in New England.

Our Motto:

Expanding the boundaries of geomatics.
